Dogs with the Shortest Life Expectancy and Why

Famously loyal, loving, and protective, the brawny fawn-coated Dogue de Bordeaux is a beloved family pet.  

The American Kennel Club reports that the average lifetime of this breed is only six to eight years. 

Irish Wolfhounds, a bigger dog breed, are devoted to their families and eager to spend time outdoors.  

Unfortunately, this specific mastiff breed only has a seven- to nine-year life expectancy, according to the American Kennel Club.
